Junior Rabbits Academy celebrates 45 years
The club was formed by the late Sello ‘Grovey’ Matsogo and Tladi Secepe on June 14, 1976.
Tsakani – Junior Rabbits Academy is celebrating its 45th anniversary and is still going strong.
The club was formed by the late Sello ‘Grovey’ Matsogo and Tladi Secepe on June 14, 1976.
They have competed in a lot of development tournaments and leagues.

“The team was taken over by Motsamai Mphuthi from 1996 and focused on the development of u-12, u-14 and u-17s.
“At the time, our club was the only local team to participate in the Transnet Soccer Tournament. We also introduced the Danone Tournament locally.
“The following year, this tournament was being played at schools,” stated club chairperson Fikile Nkambule.
The club has produced players who are playing at provincial level.

“We have been able to positively contribute to the development of soccer by producing dedicated, committed and hardworking players.
“Some of these players are playing for big local teams, while we also have young players in the development stages under big teams such as Mamelodi Sundowns and the likes of Thulane Nxepe and Lucky Khumalo, who are presently playing for Jomo Cosmos,” she explained.
