Teams invited to partake in local tournament

Soccer tournament to celebrate former professional players at Tlakula Ground.

Kwa-Thema – Senior teams are invited to take part in the Juluka 11 Top 8 soccer tournament.
The event will be hosted by the Juluka 11 Foundation in partnership with RDP Masters and Gohitile Project Management.
Registrations open from May 21 while the tournament is set to take place from August 7 to 9.
Intake will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Initially, the tournament was supposed to have been launched last year during the Easter holidays.
However, Juluka 11 Foundation founder Bheki Mahlangu said the tournament will now be an annual event.

“The purpose of this tournament is to uphold the legacy of Tlakula Ground.
“This ground has birthed so many prominent players for our country.
“Also to bring back the excitement of playing soccer on a gravel pitch,” said Mahlangu.
On the day of the finale, RDP Masters will take on Kwa-Thema soccer legends.
The likes of Nelson “Teenage” Dladla, Mkhonza Mkhonzana, Jimmy Mahlangu and many others.
The registration fee is R1 000 per team.
Winners will walk away with a cash prize of R15 000 with new jerseys and gold medals.

The second prize will include a cash prize of R8 000 with silver medals, while the third prize will consist of a cash prize of R4 000 plus bronze medals.
