SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge hits Kwatsaduza
On Heritage Day (September 24) Sunday Crew is inviting the community to another 10km fun walk and run and a 21km run, starting from 07:00 along Vergenoeg Street.
Kwatsaduza – Local runners Sunday Crew joined over 60 000 South Africans in the SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge on Saturday and demonstrated how they #LiveLimitless despite the restrictions and limitations they faced.
They also held an aerobics class after their fun walk and race.

The challenge was launched in 2020 as a homage to South African women’s resilience and strength amid the uncertainty and strife brought on by the pandemic.
As a virtual event, there were no geographic boundaries to the race, while participants could decide on their location, route, pace and whether to do it alone or as a community.

Organiser and participant Sibongiseni Skosana expressed his gratitude to those who supported the initiative.
“The community was happy to be out and about.
“This event was more than just fitness but celebrating women nationally,” said Skosana.
On Heritage Day (September 24) they are inviting the community to another 10km fun walk and run and a 21km run, starting from 07:00 along Vergenoeg Street.

Sunday Crew bus driver and assistant trainer Sibusiso Mthembu explained how he loves working within a team while promoting a healthy lifestyle, fitness and socialising.
“My passion for fitness started when I used to play soccer; however, I eventually fell in love with athletics and decided to join the Kwa-Thema Striders in 2013,” he said.
