School football league back in action
Young footballers return to the pitch for Gauteng East District league.
Kwatsaduza – The Gauteng East District has rolled out the fixtures for the schools’ league in the area.
Gauteng East Schools Football chairperson Mfaniseni Kunene is calling on schools who are not participating in the league to join.
He said schools should not deny learners the opportunity to partake in sporting activities.
The league officially resumed on April 7; however, schools in Kwa-Thema started a week before the end of first term.
It caters for u-11 and u-13 learners in primary schools and u-15 and u-17 learners in secondary schools, for girls and boys.
Duduza schools that will participate in the league are:

• Sibonisiwe Primary school

Group B
• Dan Radebe Primary School
• Edalinceba Primary School

• Sizwesethu primary School
Secondary
• Asser Maloka Secondary
• Esibonelwesihle Secondary
• MOM Seboni Secondary
• NN Ndebele Secondary
• Thandi Sibeko Secondary

Secondary schools are Bublebemfundo, Geluksdal, J.E Malepe, Langaville, Mamellong, Mbongeni Mgugudu, Reshogofaditswe, Tholulwazi and Tsakane.
Kunene has urged parents to support their children’s extra-curricular activities.
“Parents who are able to attend these matches are more than welcome to do so.
“Learners tend to excel when they feel supported and encouraged.
“Therefore, we urge parents to not hold back when it comes to supporting their children,” he added.
The committee will hold an executive election meeting on April 13 at Menzi Primary School at 14:30.
On the same day, coaching clinics will be held at Kwa-Thema Sports Complex at 13:30. Girls between the ages of 11 to 17 are urged to attend the session with their educators.
