Kwa-Thema Netball players selected to represent at national championships need help to get there
The pair needs financial assistance to make it to championships that will take place in Potchefstroom.
Kwatsaduza – Kwa-Thema Netball Team’s Noluthando Mvubelo (19) and Nokuzola Sithole (21) have been selected for the Ekurhuleni regional team that will participate in the annual Netball SA U21 National Championships, which will be held in Potchefstroom from August 7.
The pair made the final Ekurhuleni squad after making an impression in the trials in May and will now both have the chance to play at the championships for the first time.
However, the players need financial assistance to be part of the week-long tournament as selected players are expected to buy their kit and shoes and pay for their accommodation and meals.
Each player’s total amount is R4 200, which must be deposited by August 3.
Sithole, the team captain and goal defence, is delighted to have been afforded such an opportunity.

“It means a lot to me because there were many of us to choose from – maybe 60 – and I made the final 30.
“It meant a lot to the coaches and me; it shows that I’m an obedient child who is also respectful and focused,” she said.
She has also expressed the importance of being involved in a tournament of this magnitude.
“It’s essential because we’re not only representing the Kwa-Thema Netball Team but the entire Kwatsaduza.
“Also, because many others will get to learn from watching us, they will realise that determination can lead to such things, so it’s important indeed,” she said.
Meanwhile, Mvubelo, who can play as goal attack and wing attack, has already managed to get assistance with the match day dress and the shoes but still needs funds for her accommodation.
She has also shared how she thinks playing in the tournament will help her development.
“It will help me grow because I’ll learn to communicate with people I’ll be playing with for the first time.
“It will be crucial for even the next time I get selected,” she said.
