Karatekas from Duduza shine on provincial stage
The dojo managed to scoop nine trophies at the tournament.
Duduza – The Kyokushin KaiKan Sonoda dojo continued with its winning streak this past Saturday in Vosloorus.
Fifteen karateka from the dojo took part in the Kyokushin Kan (Royama) Karate Tournament with nine making it to the top three in various divisions.
In total, the dojo came back with nine trophies and medals.
The tournament was organised by the Kyokushin Kan in Gauteng.
The club’s founder and instructor, Bheki Radebe, said he was proud of the karateka.

“Such competitions are never easy so I believe they all did well.
“Most of the players out of the 15 are still fairly new to the sports code but managed to hold their own and fight the good fight,” he said.
He is inviting those who would like to join to visit their training venue at the Duduza Library Center from Monday to Thursday, starting at 17:00 until 18:00.
They are currently preparing for the upcoming International Kyokushin Karate Organisation Sonoda that will take place on November 26.
On September 24 they will be hosting a karate exhibition from 08:00 at a fee of R50.
