South Africa to host first ever U19 Women’s Cricket World Cup
International cricket teams to visit Kwatsaduza.
Kwatsaduza – South Africa will host the first women’s U19 Cricket World Cup with four games to be played at Willowmoore Park Cricket Stadium in Benoni.
As part of warm-up fixtures, teams will be visiting community cricket ovals.
Sri Lanka and Scotland will visit Douglas Sibali Oval in Duduza on Thursday and will be there from 12:30 to 14:30, South Africa and Australia will visit Prince Thethe Oval in Kwa-Thema on Sunday from 10:30 to 12:30 while Bangladesh and United Arab Emirates (UAE) will visit Geluksdal Secondary School next Thursday from 10:30 to 12:30.
Coach Tebogo Gaduka of Kwa-Thema Cricket Club said they are ready to host the teams and they are happy that the metro will be assisting in getting their fields ready.
“Our children will be playing on the day and will receive tips from national players on what to do, what not to do and what to work on.
“We as coaches will also be getting pointers on which mistakes to fix and what to continue doing right,” said Gaduka.
The world cup will start on Saturday and South Africa will play against India at 13:45 at Willowmoore Park B Field.
The entrance is free.
