Soccer legend Innocent Mayoyo set on improving local soccer
Former professional goalkeeper Innocent Mayoyo is on a quest to share his skills with upcoming goalkeepers.
Kwa-Thema – Ace Auto Ayoba Academy hosted a training programme for goalkeepers at Kwa-Thema Primary School on Sunday.
It was attended by young goalkeepers and coaches from various teams in Ekurhuleni.
Innocent Mayoyo of Ace Auto Ayoba said it is imperative to always keep goalkeepers in mind because they play an important role in the team.
“Through these initiatives, they will be motivated to improve their skills,” he said.
As a former professional goalkeeper, Mayoyo said he wants to make it a norm in Ekurhuleni for goalkeeper workshops or programmes to be hosted.
Among those who joined the programme was Nkululeko Ximba, a goalkeeper for U11 Ace Auto Ayoba.
“I learned a lot today. I am excited that I was invited as this will help me improve my skills,” he said.
