Home Sweepers to play in provincial playoffs
The community is asked to support Home Sweepers on Sunday at the Kwa-Thema Stadium
Kwa-Thema – Springs Home Sweepers FC had a great season in the Sasol Women’s (provincial) League, which ended on Sunday.
Since the season began, the team played 14 games, lost one and won the rest to be first in Stream B of the log.
The team’s technical coach, Mkhonza Mkhonzana, said the teams in the province were divided into two streams due to the Australia and New Zealand Women’s World Cup that took place recently.
Stream A was won by Croesus Ladies FC from Johannesburg. Croesus was also a strong team in their stream, having played 14 games, winning 12, drawing one and losing one.
Home Sweepers will face Croesus at their home ground, Northview High School, Balfour, on Saturday and at the Kwa-Thema Stadium on Sunday in the two-leg provincial playoffs.
The winning team will play in the national playoffs in Bloemfontein from September 25 to 30.
“We aim to win both the provincial and national playoffs so that we might play in the Hollywood League,” said Mkhonza.
Mkhonza asked for support from the community on Sunday.
“We are not only playing for ourselves but for everyone around Kwatsaduza. The support from the community will mean a lot to us,” concluded Mkhonza.
