Wrestlers triumph at champs
Battleground Wrestling Club’s wrestlers performed well in Pretoria.
Tsakani – Battleground Wrestling Club returned from the SA Youth Championship on Saturday in Pretoria with six medals.
Team manager Mpumelelo Mjoli said, “It was not easy, but we got six medals from nine wrestlers. I am proud of my wrestlers.”
The six emerged in a competition with over 500 wrestlers.
The club now waits for Snethemba Chosane’s next performance because he will soon represent it at the Noordval competition in the 48kg category.
“As a club, we wish him luck and hope he’ll do well,” said Mjoli.

Gold:
Owami Sibeko, Peaceful Khumalo and Vanessa Sibanyoni.
Bronze:
Fezile Mjoli, Thando Mqoco and Snethemba Chosane. Battleground is looking for children to join the club next year.
They are situated at the Faranani Multipurpose Centre in Tsakani and hold practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15:30 to 17:00.
