Kwa-Thema – Springs Home Sweepers FC had a great season in the SASOL Women’s (provincial) League, however, didn’t make it to the nationals.
The team played 14 games, lost one and won the rest during the season and ended in first place in Stream B of the log.
Home Sweepers faced the Stream A winners, Crouses Ladies FC in the two-leg provincial playoffs which took place over the weekend.
They played away on Saturday at Northview High School in Balfour, Johannesburg where they lost 4-1.

They played a home game on Sunday at the Alberton Stadium and won 2-0. They were only a goal behind to qualify for the national play-offs making Crouses the provincial winners of the league.
The team’s technical coach, Mkhonza Mkhonzana, said he was happy with how the girls played and is proud of them.
“We’ll be playing in only one stream next year and I can safely say we will be at the top of the log when the log ends. My girls are still young, between 12 and 20, and they still have a chance next year,” said Mkhonzana.
The national play-offs are currently on in Bloemfontein.
