Home Sweepers players to play for Bantwana

Bantwana will be having friendly games with Morocco.

Kwa-Thema – Two Springs Home Sweepers FC players, Nomfundo Motaung and Nompilo Dlamini, have been selected to form part of the U17 Junior women’s national team (otherwise known as Bantwana) and have been at training camp since Friday.

The girls will be in training till November 1.

The camp is for selection and training for friendly match games against Morocco to prepare for the U17 World Cup qualifiers.

The girls’ club coach, Mkhonza Mkhonzana, said he was proud and grateful that they selected the girls.

“It shows that as a club, we are putting effort into the sport as another player, Portia Masilela, was selected to play in the U20 team against Burundi last week,” he said.

Mkhonzana said that though it disappointed them they didn’t qualify in the provincial playoffs weeks ago, they find pleasure in the girls selected to be part of the national team.

“We are a financially struggling team, living from hand to mouth and we compete against well-off teams, but our talent and hunger for success always sees us thrive,” he concluded.
