Battleground wrestlers win regional and national awards
Three wrestlers won both the regional and national awards
Tsakani – The Tsakane Battleground Wrestling Club wrestlers bagged awards from the SA championships and the Ekurhuleni Wrestlers Association on Saturday in Benoni.
The wrestlers were selected by the organisation to be awarded.
Three of the club’s wrestlers received the SA championships awards. They are Owami Sibeko, Peaceful Khumalo and Vanessa Sibanyoni.
The three were joined by Fezile Mjoli and Thando Mqcoko in receiving the regional awards as well.
Head coach Mpho Madi said, “The wrestlers did extremely well throughout the year, I congratulate them.”
Coach Musa Radebe said he is happy for the wrestlers who received the awards as it shows that hard work pays off.
“We will keep working hard to have more people join wrestling and see them achieving awards as well,” he said.
