Duduza – Kwatsaduza Girls Skate held a provincial skating competition on Saturday at the Duduza Skate Park.
Founder Owami Mdakane said, “I decided to do this competition to bring skaters together. I felt this was a good way to get to know skaters from other areas across Gauteng.”
Mdakane said although this was not a first-of-its-kind competition, it was the first to include females in Duduza.
The boy’s division winner was Tshiamo Molebaco from Kwa-Thema, while the girl’s division winner was Tshepang Motloung-Rakhale from Johannesburg.
Mdakane said she struggled to get funds, but the event was successful and had a great turnout.
“I hope to do another competition and that the next one will be well funded,” she concluded.
