Patrick Mashapa from Tsakane has moved a step closer to the Mr South Africa title, after booking himself a spot in the top 50 selection.
The 24-year-old describes himself as a model, actor and stunt man.
He says this round will focus on the contestant’s marketing skills, as they are expected to maintain a presence in the media, while still getting votes from the public.
“The top 25 will be announced in September, and those selected will go to Cape Town to be part of the 13 episode reality show, Road to MR SA 2014,” explained Patrick.
Apart from attending a workshop in Pretoria, where the 10 month long Mr SA process was explained to the top 100 contestants, Patrick hosted two fundraising charity events as part of the tasks given to the top 100, announced in February.
“On Human Rights Day I hosted the Ekurhuleni talent expo at Faranani Multipurpose Centre, as well as a open mic for poets and stand-up comedians in Pretoria,” said the model.
The final will take place on December 10, in Johannesburg.
