Saxophonist Neo “Anderson” Mabena

Neo Anderson was born and bred in KwaThema.

At a very early age Neo Anderson started his music career as a drummer at church.

Anderson says his love for music began at his house and furthered when he he attended the East Rand School of the Arts.

He says he mainly specialises in the woodwind section which is the tenor saxophone and soprano which are B flat instruments.

He adds that he’s a musician with direction who always pushes boundaries in the different genres.

Anderson is currently studying musicology  at UNISA part time and is a personal saxophone player for pastor KG Mushi at Conquerors Christian Fellowship.

He has shared a stage with big acts such as “Phutuma the African Queen” at the Cape Town Jazz Festival in 2013.

“If you believe, the rest shall follow as long as we the youth can follow what our hearts desire” says Anderson.
