Da Kruk keeps on shining

Daveyton - Yfm’s content producer and deejay, Kutloano ‘Da Kruk’ Nhlapo (26), has made a name for himself in the media industry.

This young media marvel, who hails from Basothwini Section in Daveyton, has been named as one of the 2015 Mail and Guardian top 200 young South Africans.

He has achieved a number of things that his peers in the industry can only aspire to reach in their careers.

Being Yfm’s top producer for three years running, having released a house single track and presenting a Saturday night show, shows his determination and love for what he does.

Nhlapo, who has been in the industry for 10 years now, says that he was very inspired and humbled to be named among other great South Africans.

“It shows that people are continuously watching what you do and they acknowledge the hard work you put in, in mastering your craft,” said Nhlapo.

Beyond working in mainstream broadcasting, he also dabbles in events and entertainment.

Da Kruk hosts a bi-annual event, the All Black Everything (ABE), that celebrates young black people who have succeeded in their different professions.

The ABE event was recently held at Bahama Pub and Restaurant in KwaThema, where Da Kruk launched his first single Siphuze.

“I want to put the city I’m from on the map and show Gauteng that Ekurhuleni also has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and lifestyle.”
