House band launches in KwaThema
KwaThema – Multiple award-winning house music band MiCasa launched their third studio album ‘Home Sweet Home’ at Bahama in KwaThema last Friday.
The band comprises of vocalist ‘J-Something’, trumpeter Moshe Kgasoane ‘Mo-T’ and keyboardist and producer Sipho Mphalaza ‘Dr Duda’.
J–Something, whose real name is Joao da Fonseca, says they chose to launch their third offering at Bahamas because they have a large and loyal following in Kwatsaduza.
“When we came to perform here the first time in 2011, the response from the community of KwaThema was huge, and we really wanted to come back and do something special for them here,” says J-Something.
The album is a double disc album with 22 tracks, featuring artists like Big Nuz and DJ Euphonik.
“What makes this album so special is that we worked with a number of producers from around the world, bringing a unique sound to our normal style of making music.
“The music industry is very competitive and requires artists to stay relevant by bringing fresh sounds and trying different things, hence we worked with various people on the album,” he says.
Their two-hour performance saw them performing hits like ‘Jika’, ‘Turn you on’ and their latest hit ‘Chocolat’, which is currently doing well on radio charts.
New dance moves were the order of the night as the band showed off their dancing skills.
“We dance so we engage with the crowd and make the performance livelier.
“The crowd came for a performance and we have to give them something memorable,” says J-Something.
Fans can get the album from leading music stores.
