Grandparents show support
KwaThema - Proud grandparents Alina Motsepe (60) and Ezra Tali (65) are elated with the performance of their granddaughter Khanyisile Lalendle (9).
The young girl participated in the Mr and Miss Ekurhuleni East Pageant which was hosted at the KwaThema Hall on Saturday.
Lalendle managed to make it to the top five in her age group.
“Our grandchild made it to the top five in her age group, of girls between the ages of five to nine, and we are extremely proud of her as it was her first time participating in such a contest.
“She was very confident and well prepared that it was a shock when she did not make it,” says Motsepe.
Tali, however, says they have faith that next time she will succeed.
The grandparents describe Lalendle as multi-talented and see her going very far in life.
“She loves dancing, modelling with her younger sister Lim’cebo (4), art, singing and reading.
“And the reason we entered her into the competition was because of the potential we saw in her.
“Even when the auditions and rehearsals started in June for this, she was very excited and took it seriously,” says Tali.
The pensioners add that the pageant was a great experience for the children as it kept them off the streets.
“We are very proud of Lalendle and the way she performed.
“And if we find something else which will interest and help her develop, we will take her there.
“Our wish is for her to follow her passion and dreams, to be successful and we will continue to support her as we don’t know where she will end up,” say Motsepe and Tali.
