Opportunity to improve local designers’ businesses

“This is to give the winner an opportunity to help realise their business goals in improving their businesses.”

Tsakane – Three finalists were selected during the launch of the Decade of Fashion competition hosted by Tsakane Mall, in partnership with Fashion Week.

The event was aimed to empower emerging creative designers during the competition.

Organiser Zani Dludlu from Tsakane Mall says designers were encouraged to submit technical drawings/designs together with a short biography and brief motivation, the theme being Celebrating a Decade of Shopping.

“Based on the number of entries received, three finalists, Sylvia Xaba, Thuli Makofane and Janet Seroka, were chosen.

“We were impressed by the quality and professionalism of the entries.

“On September 26, the three finalists participated in a joint exhibition at the mall with an opportunity to showcase their work and skills,” she says.

Zani further explains the overall winner will receive a cash prize of R5 000, sponsored by the mall.

“This is to give the winner an opportunity to help realise their business goals in improving their businesses.

“The winner will be announced on October 27,” she says.
