“I have talent and I don’t want to see it going to waste.”
Chasing your dreams has no age bearer. With focus and hard work, one can achieve their dreams at any point in their life.
George Sekonya serves as a testimony that age is nothing but a number. It can never be a hindrance to touching and entertaining others with your talents.
Sekonya was born in KwaThema and is currently residing in Duduza.
He started singing in 1992, together with his friends from KwaThema and Tsakane.

Growing up he didn’t meet many challenges, except after his dad died while he was still in school.
“I had to drop out school to take care of my five sisters and mother,” says Sekonya.
He had to find a job and become a father to his siblings.
Among his peers, he is the only who decided to pursue a music career at the age of 60.
Throughout the years he had been carving his talent by singing in his church.
This year he released his first professional album titled Jesu Kea ho Leboha.
The album has ten songs.

“I have talent and I don’t want to see it going to waste,” adds Sekonya to explain the motivation behind him releasing an album.
He says he is motivated by seeing other people using their talents for a good cause.
His music is inspired by the things he sees happening around him.
Also, the songs are aimed at helping people to know God and better strengthen their relationships with Him.
He funded his own album and has been promoting his album in church and at local radio stations.
He wants to encourage others that as long as they live they can still achieve goals and fulfil their dreams.
