Langaville advertiser taking the internet by storm
Lindo-mar says it is important for him to shoot his videos in the area where he is from and use people from the area because it creates positive role models for youth in the area.
Langaville – Advertiser Lindo-mar Khumbane from Langaville Extension Five knew he was an advertiser before he was one.
He started shooting advertisements on a VGA camera with his girlfriend and friends as the cast, and now he can boast about being one of the first creatives to work with activewear brand Under Armour when the company launched in South Africa.
Khumbane credits social media for his success and implores the youth to use online platforms to get ahead.

“It is important for people to put their work online because you don’t need anyone’s permission.
“It is your platform and can be accessed by many people,” he says.
He also encourages creatives to put their best foot forward and constantly raise the bar, even when faced with doubt by parents.
“There is money to be made in being creative.
“My parents did not believe in me until they saw I was making money,” he adds.
Expensive data costs and lack of access is almost a thing of the past with clinics and libraries becoming Wi-Fi hot spots.
This will result in the youth being able to access different types of creative content that can inspire their own content.
It will then have a better chance of being seen when posted online.
The Facebook sensation, who received 887 reactions on his video The advert KFC never made, credits some of his success to Umuzi, which is where he obtained his diploma in advertising.
“Umuzi is one of the few schools that take only black creatives and pays you while you study,” he says of the college where he is now the head of the multi-media department.

“It’s huge for children to see someone carrying a camera in the streets instead of a beer,” he enthused.
“It also shows them that to work in TV one does not have to only be an actor or a presenter, but that there are other jobs behind the scenes,” he continued.
