KwaThema – Johannesburg Archdiocese Catholic Choirs Music Association (JADCCMA) will be hosting the annual Catholic Choirs Music Competitions at the HH Ngakane Community Hall on Saturday from 10.30am.

The annual choirs are aimed at growth and development and one of the flagship programmes is the annual choir’s eliminations/competitions wherein youth, young adult and adult choirs come together to praise God in unison.

Kagiso Rama Mogaswane says the archdiocese has eight deaneries and choirs from the following deaneries, including the Central Johannessbur, Ekurhuleni, North, South, Soweto, Vaal and West Rand, will be participating.

“The choirs will be participating in the solo sections (bass), sextet, male voices category, female voices category, large section for choirs with 60 voices and sing three songs, standard section for choirs with max 48 voices and sing three songs, youth section for choirs with max 30 voices and sing three songs and developmental section, a section of choirs with smaller numbers in the church.

“Those interested in attending the event will pay R40 at the door,” he adds.
