Three men arrested for possession of illicit drugs in Tsakane and Springs areas
The suspects were arrested during an operation in Springs and Tsakane on May 19 for various charges, including dealing in illicit substances.
The EMPD arrested three men for possession and possible dealing in illicit substances on May 19 in the Tsakani and Springs areas.
According to the EMPD, while patrolling in Tsakani, officers acted on information received regarding two men who were allegedly in possession of drugs on Libhuma Street, Ext 1.
“Officers proceeded to the identified location, and permission was granted to conduct a search. During the search, the suspects were found in possession of suspected illicit substances, such as mandrax, crystal meth, heroin and dagga. The suspects were immediately arrested,” the EMPD said.

Meanwhile, in Springs, another operation was conducted, leading to the apprehension of one additional suspect.
“The individual was found in possession of 48 zip-lock bags of dagga and R50 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug dealing,” the EMPD added.
The suspects, aged between 29 and 39, were arrested and detained at the Tsakane and Springs police stations. They are expected to appear before the relevant magistrates’ courts soon.
