Nkosinathi Mbonani Charity Games set to unite sport and community giving

Sixteen teams will compete in the third annual Nkosinathi Mbonani Charity Games, with prize money aimed at supporting orphanages and organisations in need.

Tsakani – The community of Kwatsaduza and surrounding areas is invited to attend the third annual Nkosinathi Mbonani Charity Games, which will be held at Tsakane Stadium on May 30 and 31.

Sixteen teams have been selected to compete in support of an organisation or orphanage of their choice.

The charity games began three years ago and were established by Nkosinathi Mbonani to uplift sporting activities in the community while continuing his passion for helping others.

“Giving is just part of who I am and reflects how I was raised.

“My father taught me how to give and respect others, and this sporting event is not just about gathering and playing for money; it is about playing for a purpose,” he explained.

Mbonani said the participating teams were also selected with purpose, as many represent local brands, events and organisations.

He emphasised that their involvement aligns with his vision of giving back to the community.

“Money won here will help those who are most in need but cannot provide for themselves. It is always a good idea to give back and support one another as individuals,” he said.

The first prize is set at R13 000, while the second prize winner will receive R2 000.

Mbonani also condemned criminal activities during the event and appealed to community members to come together peacefully and enjoy the games without violence or conflict.
