Police are investigating a case of attempted murder after a man was shot ten times on the corner of Zimu and Ndudula streets in Duduza, African Reporter reports

It is alleged that members of Crime Prevention were conducting visible community policing when they heard gunshots in the area.

Duduza police spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka says the police rushed to the scene and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds lying in a pool of his own blood.

“According to witnesses, the victim was being chased from the direction of Tsakane by two men into Duduza.

“They started firing shots at the victim and then fled by foot. The victim was able to identify himself and share with the police who the suspects are,” he says.

Manaka says the victim was rushed to hospital for medical attention and no one has been arrested.

“The motive of the incident is still unknown and we are calling on anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward,” he says.
