Crash bang there goes my wall again

Wall crash ten times already

CARLA Williams has been living in Brackendowns for seven years but no one could have prepared her for the amount of car crashes in Andries Street.

“There has probably been close to ten accidents,” says Carla. The accidents have happened twice on her property, and where there is now fence covering the remainder of her wall has become a danger zone. Accidents in the area include a recent lamppost hit on the corner of the street.

Specifically addressing the area, Carla is not the only one with a problem. Another home up the road, has also been hit, with fencing joining the other end of the wall. One onlooker of these incidents explained to Carla that she had spoken with the council to address this problem but nothing has been done because, according to the information gained, they cannot put speed humps because of Andries Street being a bus route.

They also said they have widened the road, according to the last statement made by the onlooker.“I feel the bend is becoming an accident zone which I believe the council should react to accordingly, either by speed humps or barriers,” said Carla.
