Robbery suspect arrested for urinating in public
One of the men who was part of a syndicate of robbers involved in business robberies was arrested for urinating in public.

ALBERTON – Alberton SAPS have arrested a suspect for urinating in public. The incident took place on January 9 at around 23:00.
After arresting Sandile Mbatha for urinating in public, SAPS identified him as one of the wanted suspects in the area.
They questioned him and he admitted to being one of the group members that terrorise businesses in and around Alberton. He then promised that he would cooperate with the police and also help in the arrest of other members involved.
Later during the evening, officers Constable Khambule, Mabunda, Mphaga and Mabala took Sandile along to follow up on the information he had provided.
Sandile showed the police their hideout and pointed Siphiwe “Max Small” Mzizi and Smangaliso Zungu out as his accomplices. The men are notorious criminals known to the police only by their names, but now they are behind bars. “Thank you, Constable Moswang as the arresting officer,” said Sergeant Nkuna.
The syndicate robbed businesses, toll gates and companies and is linked to seven recent cases that happened during December 2013. Further investigation is taking place to see if there is a link to other criminal activity by this group, that is also wanted at Germiston SAPS.
“The criminals have been removed from the streets of Alberton and they are awaiting trial. Our members kept looking for them. Even though the SAPS members were armed, they managed to arrest them without any shooting. Keep up the good work. Thank you, officers. Alberton is safe,” said Sergeant Nkuna.
