At the public hearings held by the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa), Eskom acting CEO Brian Molefe said Eskom has reduced its tariff hike request from 12,7 per cent to 9,5 per cent for the 2015/16 financial year.
Out of the 25,3 per cent hike, about half has already been approved.
They are applying to Nersa to implement an all-inclusive 25,3 percent increase until the end of the 2017/18 financial year.
