WITH close to 17 000 people, 16 784 to be exact, through the gates for the game between Xerox Lions and Vodacom Blue Bulls on April 23, it was all out rugby in Alberton.
Crowds cheered their teams on during the game, with teams from Soweto and some high school teams taking part in the opening games before the Xerox Lions trashed the Vodacom Bulls in the main game.
A-Square Forklift Alberton also did not disappoint with a win over old rivals Union in the final game of the day.
Apart from rugby, families got together for some socialising and even a fourth birthday party.
All in all, it was a rugby day of note in Alberton.
