Beware of scam artist
An Alberton resident is would like to warn others to be careful of falling victim to a scam artist as she did.
AN Alberton resident would like to warn the community against a scam artist.
According to Michelle Tucker from Alberton, a lady came to her house and said she was selling watches for the Cansa Foundation. “She told me that with the deal you get a week’s advertising in the Alberton RECORD,” says Michelle. “She was selling the watches for R200 each. I bought two. She said she needed to keep the watches on her for advertising purposes so couldn’t give them to me at the time, but that I would get the watches and the advertising as soon as the transfer into the account shows,” she adds.
The RECORD can confirm that we have no such offer. We advise everyone not to take someone making such claims at face value and to contact us.
“She seemed so nice and decent,” says Michelle. “She kept on making excuses and now I can’t get hold of her at all.”
