Suspects arrested in Leondale

Report any form of crime to Alberton SAPS on 011 861 6800.

THREE men were arrested by Alberton SAPS on September 17 in Leondale, Germiston.

SAPS members were doing crime prevention in sector three and received information about a green Toyota Corolla with armed occupants.

After EMPD managed to locate the car backup was called in. The vehicle was stopped on the corner of Heather and Reebok Streets where legal authorities searched the vehicle.

Two unlicensed firearms were recovered and the suspects were arrested and taken to Alberton SAPS.

“All role players were surmounting to come to the scene of the crime. Laboratory Computing Resource Center (LCRC) from our local cluster came and took fingerprints and photographs. Everything was booked into the station and then taken to forensics as evidence,” said Captian Manare Ramotshela, communication officer from Alberton SAPS.

The motor vehicle used by the suspects has been taken to the traffic pound for safety.

“It was taken by one of their members who was driving the tow truck from EMPD and one of our flying squad vehicles was at the scene giving backup to the community of Leondale,” Ramotshela said.

The suspects are being detained at Alberton SAPS for further investigation.
