Alberton SAPS bust stolen truck trailer

Alberton SAPS successfully nabbed a male suspect after being found with a stolen trailer on the R59 freeway towards Vereeniging direction on May 22.

SAPS members of the Germiston Flying Squad successfully nabbed a male suspect after being found with a stolen truck trailer on May 22

This comes after the SAPS members, who were patrolling at the time, received a call from a radio control in Midrand tipping them off.

The call was in connection with a stolen truck trailer which was allegedly taken in one of the Gauteng policing areas.
They swiftly responded to the call and apprehended the suspect on the R59 freeway towards Vereeniging’s direction.
Capt Manare Ramotshela, a spokesperson for Alberton SAPS, said the suspect was then stopped.

“The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights as per on the SAP 26 and informed of his arrest. He was brought to the station and put on the official register and the trailer was taken to the police pound for further investigation,” he said.

Ramotshela told the RECORD that the owner of the recovered trailer was later informed and arrived at the scene.

He encouraged the community to report any information that may assist SAPS members to bring criminals to book.
