Silwerkroon lift installation now underway
A few weeks after getting their much-needed relief, Silwerkroon residents will have to wait for at least a month until it will be all systems go.
This was confirmed by Musan Trading Enterprise, the construction company contracted through the City of Ekurhuleni. They officially started installing the new lift on October 9 and it may take up to a month to complete their project.
Unlike the old lift, the senior residents have been promised that the newly installed lift will be advanced and will come with many features.
According to Bongani Ntuli of Musan Trading Enterprise, the new lift will be safer and will be able to carry at least 13 people at a time.
“It will be much faster than the old one and residents will get to listen to music as they move up to their floors. It will also have an emergency intercom, which will ensure effective communication from the person inside the lift to the outside. If someone is stuck from the inside, we will be responsible for getting them out,” he said.
