As a kind gesture, through the national executive director of Child Welfare South Africa, Haval Alberton donated R10 000 to Child Welfare recently.
According to Nico Grobler, brand manager of Haval Alberton, the donation was driven by a need to thank the Alberton community for their continuous support.
“Everybody is struggling and I think children are the ones most affected. People in the child welfare system probably felt left out and forgotten and we wanted to show our support,” he said.
Grobler also said they have supported and have been involved with charities such as Stepping Stone Hospice and various local churches.
Zeenith Domingo, director at the Alberton Child Welfare, thanked Haval Alberton for their much-need donation.
“The donation was really needed after everything had come to a standstill. The donation will really help a lot. Right through lockdown we struggled to get funding and the money only came at a later stage. We were also fortunate because the bank looked after us and we managed to pay our staff,” she said.
She confirmed that the money had been kept in their investment account to run projects and cover expenses at the welfare.
Alberton Child Welfare appeals to the community for any assistance to continue providing services to communities.
