Alberton Methodist Church brings hope in light of Christmas
In an aim to awaken the Christmas spirit, Alberton Methodist Church is calling on local businesses to light up Christmas trees in their car parking lots.
Alberton Methodist Church has taken a stand to not allow the pandemic to steal people’s joy and hope from celebrating Christmas.
They are challenging local businesses to light up their biggest tree in their car parking lots. They have had Musical Bumble Bees Company also taking part.
The church also set an example by recently decorating a tree with Glow Worm Photography and Boots for Africa. They were also joined by former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana player Lucky Lekgwathi.
According to the church’s youth pastor, James Dunn, the trees are to create a garden of hope.
“This is to also offer people a time to breathe in a safe environment lit up to bring hope. There are a few trees still available and we would love to offer them to anyone else who would like to decorate and light a tree. This is to help remind the community where the anchor is in this storm,” said Dunn.
