Ward 106 committee member awakens hope through donation

Ward 106 committee member Tim Denny donated a large teddy bear to the Teddy Bear foundation recently received by funding coordinator Dalene Bishop.

Ward 106 committee member Tim Denny donated a large teddy bear to the Teddy Bear Foundation which will be used as a ‘comforter’ for abused children at the clinic.

The teddy bear was received by Dalene Bishop, a funding coordinator at the clinic.

Denny said: “They will give the teddy bear to children as a physiological assisting toy. I urge the community to also not forget about the foundation which focuses on abused and helpless children.

“They are the most vulnerable in our society, and all donations and support are welcome.”

Bishop said they were grateful for the teddy bear.

“This will be used in one of the offices or waiting rooms in order to make the children feel welcome and to put them at ease when using our services. We humbly request a donation of soft toys new or pre-loved. Each time a child comes into our care they are given a soft toy as their travel companion on a journey to healing,” she said.

She also thanked the community’s continuous support and also appealed for donations in making a difference in the children’s lives.

“We are also humbly requesting a donation of new or pre-loved stationery to assist our children when they go back to school. A financial donation during these difficult times would be used to ensure that we can continue providing services to abused children,” said Bishop.

Those interested in contributing with monetary or any form of donation may contact Dalene Bishop at daleneb@ttbc.org.za or on 083 469 9196.
