General Albertspark couple cherishes 63-year wedding anniversary

Willem and Anna Kieser, both aged 82, recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.

After knowing each other for all their lives and spending wonderful years together, the General Albertspark couple is living proof that true love exists.

Willem and Anna Kieser, both aged 82, recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.

They got married at age 20 and shared with the RECORD that their relationship has since been centred on their love for God.

They have known each other since Grade One, as they were mere neighbours who grew up together and had no idea that they would one day tie the knot.

Anna described her husband as a patient and caring man who puts others first. She said together they have shared many delightful memories.

“We are still crazy in love with each other. If you want something to last forever, pamper it with more special care, protect it and never neglect or abuse it. With God’s presence and favour in our lives, we still celebrate our eternal love for one another even to this day,” she said.

Willem described his better half as a selfless and compassionate partner who has always stood by his side.

“She has always been a good woman. In the early stages of our relationship I had to sell my only cow in order to be able to buy her a wedding ring. It’s a privilege to still have her in my life and I thank my children for also being there for us,” he said.

The pair is blessed with five children, consisting of four sons and one daughter; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
