SAPS visits special needs class
Officers from Brackendowns SAPS introduced themselves to the Brackenhurst Primary special needs learners.
Officers from Social Crime Prevention, Vispol and the sector manager from Brackendowns SAPS visited the Brackenhurst Primary special needs class to raise awareness as part of the ‘SAPS is Our Friend’ Awareness Campaign.
“The children had the opportunity to meet a police officer and see firsthand that we are the good guys and we are there to protect them,” said WO Gerhard Cornelius, spokesperson for Brackendowns SAPS.
“They also had the opportunity to ride in a police car.”
The officers took part in an activity with the children where they had to identify different shapes and point them out on the SAPS vehicles.
“It was such a blessing to meet these special children and to be part of their lives, even just for a day. We were truly blessed,” said Cornelius.
