Winetasting for conservation

The KNRA hosted a winetasting fund-raiser at Thaba Eco Hotel.

The Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve Association (KNRA) hosted a fund-raising winetasting event at Thaba Eco Hotel on May 16.
Attendees were treated to a winetasting of wines from award-winning winemaker Jeremy Borg’s Painted Wolf Wines as well as a canapé meal.
The day’s proceedings were accompanied by a jazz ensemble by Reuben Huma.
KNRA was founded with the purpose to protect the Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve. According to Frank Diener, chairperson of the KNRA, the nature reserve is the jewel of the south and the largest reserve South of Johannesburg.
All proceeds from the event went to the KNRA to assist them in their conservation efforts.
The wines that were tasted on the day were from the Painted Wolf Wines range. The founder of Painted Wolf founded the wines with the additional purpose to assist with the conservation of wild dogs.
Borg entertained the guests with his stories regarding the conservation of the animals, why they are so critically endangered and why it is so important that large conservation areas be maintained for their numbers to recover. He informed the guests about his wine and the history and composition of them.
KNRA would like to say a special thank you to the Thaba Eco Hotel who provided them with their facilities and staff on the day to make the fund-raising a success.
