Attendees learn the importance of first aid

Medical course held for the community's first responders and teachers from local schools.

Members from Brackendowns SAPS joined hands with the Rotary Association and the Little Angels Day Care at the Academic Success Junior campus premises in Sector 2 for a course on medical response as first responders.

This took place on September 11 and according to WO Gerhard Cornelius from Brackendowns SAPS the event aimed to equip their partners, from various groups, on how and when to administer first aid.

“It is an important course. As first responders to a scene or in an event where abuse is found in the case of minors as part of the ongoing gender-based violence (GBV) initiative.”

Members from SAPS VISPOL, Brackendowns CPF, Savvanna Georg Foundation, Animal Protection Network and various teachers from local schools and nursery schools attended the course.

Kevin Bennett, president of the Rotary Association, told the audience more about what they do and how people can become part of the association.
