On January 4, Alberton SAPS honoured newly promoted officers from the station by handing them their new ranks.
“Our long-serving constables have been promoted to the rank of sergeant,” said Capt Manare Ramotshela, spokesperson for Alberton SAPS.
The officers received their ranks from Alberton Vispol commander Lt-Col Robert Makopo.
He advised the officers that their promotion goes with added responsibility.
“It is up to them to grow in the line of duty,” said Makopo.
“Knowledge is power.”
The newly-promoted officers are allowed to take one academic module a year to help them understand any situation they come across.
