Upgrades to Arnold Substation will interrupt power supply in areas of Alrode

The upgrades will take place from 18:00 on March 18 to 12:00 on March 21.

In a bid to eliminate power outages in parts of Alrode the City of Ekurhuleni will upgrade the electrical equipment at the Arnold Substation.

The upgrades will commence on March 18 at 18:00 and will continue until March 21 at 12:00. The upgrade process will lead to power interruption to several streets in the area.

Affected streets are Arnold Street, Clarke Street, Garfields Street, Dan Jacob Street, Potgieter Street, Dienst Street, Jurie Street and a part of Bosworth Street.

“This was an opportune time for the City to do this upgrade with the minimum interruption on the production line as this area is an industrial area,” said Zweli Dlamini, spokesperson for the city of Ekurhuleni.

“Customers are advised to treat all power points as live for the full duration of the interruption. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
