Interested parties to host another revamp at Parklands High

Locals are invited to join in on the revamp and clean-up operation of Parklands High School on April 9.

Following a recent clean-up operation, a group of locals will be at it again on April 9 when they will revamp and clean up the sports field at Parklands High School.

This is after the group of community members consisting of property agents, ward 37 councillor Ivan Naidoo alongside organisers, committed to adopting the school for the year.

Organiser Dorene van Tonder of Rawson Properties said they needed to raise R111 500 to resurface the three netball fields at the school.

“We truly need sponsors for this. If anyone has any good ideas on how we can have a successful fundraiser, their advice will be greatly appreciated. Sport will help the children to focus on fitness and health and keep them out of mischief. A focused mind produces results,” she said.

Learners of Parklands High School cleaned their school.

She also urged all local businesses in Alberton to buy advertising space on the school’s fence as part of their fund-raiser. Funds will go towards the education and improvement of the school.

The sports field revamp and clean-up will commence at 09:00 till 13:00. For any assistance or to get involved, you may contact 083 556 8810 or 061 545 3372.
