Joburg 100% back to work for the Golden Start
More city officials will be hands-on regarding service delivery as they are back in full force.
Joburg residents have been subjected to reduced service delivery since the start of the implementation of the lockdown in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, which compelled the city to reduce operations to protect employees.
MMC for Group Corporate and Shared Services, Leah Knott, said they are pleased to announce that the City of Johannesburg has instituted a 100% back to work policy since April 1 after months of hard work was put into ensuring that this takes place in a manner that is safe for all employees and residents.
“Since taking office, the City of Johannesburg’s multi-party government has been hard at work implementing our Golden Start strategy to achieve the high levels of service delivery that residents deserve.
“From now on, residents can expect full attendance by officials across all City offices. Those who deliver critical services will always be at work.
“Sensible measures will be kept in place to ensure that employees’ health is not placed at risk, but our walk-in centres, call centres, and regional depots that are the engine of service delivery will always be operational.
“Across the City, our teams will be hard at work making our City of Gold shine again and announcing to the world that we are open for business. Residents will start to see the effects of the work done by the multi-party government as part of the commitment made to ensure that Johannesburg is a well-run city that gets the basics of service delivery right,” she said.
