Water supply fully restored to Alberton after pipeline repairs

The City of Ekurhuleni’s water technical teams have completed repairs on the steel pipeline crossing under the R556 provincial road situated at the corner of JG Strydom and Kliprivier roads.

The City expresses gratitude for the patience and understanding of the communities that were affected by the supply disruption.

“In the meantime, repairs are ongoing on a damaged 400 pipeline in another part of Alberton which has resulted in low pressure to no water supply in South Crest, a portion of Florentia and Alberton North,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini.

Water tankers have been dispatched to assist communities and are located as follows:

• Alberton North Reservoir

• Corner Radio and Union streets and

• Corner Middle and Parklands roads

The City of Ekurhuleni wishes to apologise for the inconvenience caused.
