Brackendowns SAPS recently hosted a social crime prevention and youth desk at Kenton Primary School, where learners from Grade One to Three were addressed.
The topic for the day was Take Care. The learners were taught about the three people who they should take care of:
• Take care of me. Look after yourself and ensure you are safe. Make sure you know who your friends are, know your surroundings and know what to do and where to go when danger lurks, who to trust and which transport to take.
• Take care of each other. If you see a friend in need, know who to trust to aid that friend.
• Take care of your teacher.
“They are the parents of the children when they are at school and we need to take care of them by listening to them and obeying them. We need to raise our voices when they are mistreated by learners,” said WO Gerhard Cornelius, spokesperson of Brackendowns SAPS.
The team also touched on stranger danger and stealing.
