Ms World 2022 finalist joins forces with DA
Ms World finalist Desiree Oliphant collaborates with DA to change the community of Alberton and empower women.
Ward 38 councillor Malcolm Maifala-Masebe approved the genre women in sport when Ms World finalist Désirée Oliphant collaborated with the DA in the ward.
The implementation will commence in May or June.
According to Maifala-Masebe, switching Ward 38 and changing mindsets will directly benefit all the women in Alberton between the ages 16 and 60 years.
“Many, if not all, of the main athletic codes will be introduced in our communities as part of this landmark event, diverting attention away from many, if not all, of the societal evils affecting our ladies on that day,” said Maifala-Masebe.
In agreement with Maifala-Masebe, Oliphant said gender-based violence, unemployment, single parenting and women with disabilities are but a few of these very serious injustices this partnership and collaboration will address.
On the day of the commemoration, the communities will be asked to gather and celebrate Alberton’s people reaching yet another milestone.
