My badge – my pride talk held

Members from Brackendowns SAPS recently visited Kenton Primary School for a school talk project.

Brackendowns SAPS Social Crime Prevention made a presentation to the prefects at Kenton Primary School about the importance of wearing a badge recently.

The students were made aware of the responsibility and accountability that comes with the honour of being chosen as a school leader. That the badge is not just an emblem but carries weight and that wearing it means taking responsibility even when it is difficult and uncomfortable to do so.

According to this statement, it is difficult to take action to mend the wrong, especially if you see a friend doing something wrong in public. However, the prefects should lead by example regardless the situation.

The SAPS was welcomed with open arms and the learners walked away with a renewed sense of purpose, inspired to carry out their responsibilities and wear the insignia with pride.
