Alberton SAPS makes generous donation to local CPF
The Alberton SAPS presented one of its precincts with a uniform so they can be identified during their patrolling time.
Alberton SAPS proudly donated 14 new zip-up CPF bomber jackets to active members of the Phumula CPF, on September 30.
The Alberton SAPS, together with Phumula CPF, aim to protect the community and make the environment a better space for every resident.
According to Alberton’s SAPS spokesperson Captain Manare Ramotshela, they are aware that the work done by the patrollers is challenging and is frequently criticised by neighbours. To inspire the patrollers to keep up the phenomenal job, they donated these jackets.
“The community’s safety is being kept to a high standard by the patrollers because they reside in the community. This uniform is not handed to them to use at any time they feel like, however, when on duty, so they can be recognised by the community and identified during their voluntarily conducted patrols around the township,” said Ramotshela.

The CPF’s objective is to help launch and coordinate social crime prevention programmes and projects in collaboration with SAPS, other state departments, law enforcement agencies, municipal police services and other CPF structures.
“Everyone in our communities is impacted by crime, therefore, we want to support those who voluntarily safeguard us. Members should respect and wear their uniforms with pride,” Ramotshela concluded.
